Research interests:

Alejandro's interest are basin analysis of continental margins, with focus in active margins, interactions between tectonics and sedimentation and implications for hydrocarbon exploration. Key foucs areas are regional to reservoir scale analysis to define petroleum systems, sequence and seismic stratigraphy, reservoir characterization knowledge for reconstruction of static and dynamic models, and integration of long regional 2D seismic transects, 3D seismic data, well data, outcrop  to create plate tectonic reconstructions and paleogeography maps. Main tools used are subsurface interpretation workstations, ArcGIS database management and visualization techniques. Lecturer in general geophysics, petroleum geology using workstations and regional geology.
