Head of Lab: Professor Trygve Eftestøl and Professor Kjersti Engan

Trygve Eftestøl is a full professor at the Electrial Engineering and Computer Science department at the University of Stavanger. He was born in Bergen, Norway. He She received the Ing. (B.E.) degree in electrical engineering from Bergen University College and the Siv.Ing. (M.Sc.) and Dr.Ing. (Ph.D.) degrees in 1994 and 2000 respectively, both in electrical engineering from the University of Stavanger, Stavanger, Norway.
Kjersti Engan is a full professor at the Electrial Engineering and Computer Science department at the University of Stavanger. She was born in Bergen, Norway. She received the Ing. (B.E.) degree in electrical engineering from Bergen University College in 1994 and the Siv.Ing. (M.Sc.) and Dr.Ing. (Ph.D.) degrees in 1996 and 2000 respectively, both in electrical engineering from the University of Stavanger, Norway. She is currently a full professor with the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of Stavanger (UiS), Norway. Link to her UiS page, and her web page. Her research interests are in signal and image processing, especially for biomedical applications, and in sparse signal representation and dictionary learning. She is a senior member of IEEE, a member of IEEE Image and Video Multidimensional Signal Processing Technical Committee (IVMSP) and a senior Area editor for IEEE signal processing letters.
Associate professor Mahdieh Khanmohammadi
Mhadieh Khanmohammadi was born in Iran. She recieved her Bachelor degree and M.Sc. degree in bioelectrical Engineering from the university of Teheran, Iran. She recieved her PhD in medical image processing from the computer science department at the university of Copenhagen, Denmark in 2015. She has been a post.doc. researcher at the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of Stavanger (UiS), and since 2019 she has been an associate professor at the department.
Associate professor Karl Skretting
Karl Skretting is an associate professor at the Electrial Engineering and Computer Science department at the University of Stavanger. He was born in Nærbø, Norway. He received his siv.ing. (M.Sc) and the PhD degree from the Electrial Engineering and Computer Science department at UiS in 1998 and 2002 respectively. He is a part of the Cybernetics Group. His research interests are in signal representation, data compression and and computer graphics.

Professor Jan Terje Kvaløy
Jan Terje Kvaløy is a professor in statistics at the Department of Mathematics and Physics at UiS. He was born in Vikedal, Norway. He received the SivIng (M.Sc) degree in applied mathematics in 1994 and the Dr.Ing (PhD) degree in mathematical statistics in 1999, both from the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Associate professor II Ketil Oppedal
Ketil Oppedal holds a research position at Stavanger Univeristy Hospital (SUH), and in addition he holds a associate professor II position at the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of Stavanger (UiS). He recieved his PhD with the BMDLab group in 2016.

Øyvind Meinich-Bache is a researcher at Laerdal Medical, and in addition he holds an associate professor II position at the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of Stavanger (UiS). He recieved his PhD with the BMDLab group in Februar 2020.

Stein Ørn is a medical doctor, with a specialization and PhD cardiology. He is working at the Cardiology department at Stavanger Univeristy Hospital (SUH), and holds a prof. II position at UiS.

Kathinka Kurz is a medical doctor, with a specialization and PhD in radiology. She is working at the Radiology department at Stavanger Univeristy Hospital (SUH), and holds a prof. II position at UiS.
PhD Jörn Schulz
Jörn Schulz was born in Berlin, Germany. He recieved his PhD in statistics. He is currently a statistician at Stavanger University Hosptial (SUH). He also holds a associate professor II position at the Department of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Stavanger (UiS), Norway. He is a former post.doc. researcher at the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of Stavanger (UiS).
