Welcome to Stavanger Astronomy Society !

SAF was established on 7th October 1969, and is one of Norway's oldest astronomical societies. It is based at Byhaugen café in Stavanger, where meetings are held regularly every Wednesday at 7.30 p.m.

The society is open to everyone, and there are no special skills neccessary to become a member. Every Wednesday there are meetings for discussions, to get answers to questions and borrow books and magazines from the society's library. Coffee and mineral drinks are for sale. These nights are also used for observation, weather permitting.

Occasionally there are also lectures on special topics (in Norwegian).
